From first call to finished floor

A clear sequence of what happens after you book a consultation, including site checks, material selection, and the final walkthrough.

01

On-site measure and subfloor check

We visit your space, take exact measurements, and inspect the subfloor for moisture or level issues. This determines what prep work is needed before any planks go down.

02

Sample review and grain selection

You compare oak, walnut, and engineered options in natural light. We walk through grain patterns, plank widths, and finish sheen so the choice fits how the room is actually used.

03

Written quote with timeline

You receive a detailed breakdown covering materials, prep, installation, and finishing. The schedule accounts for acclimation days and drying time between coats.

04

Installation and finish application

Our crew handles the subfloor prep, lays the pattern, and applies the chosen finish. We protect adjacent areas and keep the work site tidy at the end of each day.

05

Final walkthrough and care guide

We review the completed floor together, check transitions and edges, and leave a maintenance sheet covering cleaning products, humidity levels, and how to handle scratches.

06

Follow-up after you settle in

A few weeks later we check how the floor is holding up, especially around joints and high-traffic areas. Small adjustments are handled quickly without extra paperwork.

From First Call to Finished Floor

Every installation follows the same disciplined sequence: site assessment, material selection, subfloor preparation, installation, and final finishing. The timeline below shows what happens at each stage and what you can expect before we start.

Week 1 - Site Survey and Moisture Check

We measure the room, check subfloor flatness, and run a moisture test on the concrete or plywood base. This determines whether the floor can be nailed, glued, or floated, and it shapes the material recommendation.

Week 2 - Sample Review and Quote

You visit the showroom to compare oak, walnut, and engineered options side by side. We walk through grain patterns, stain colors, and finish sheen levels. The quote includes material cost, installation labor, and a clear timeline for your project size.

Week 3 - Material Delivery and Acclimation

Planks arrive and sit in the room for five to seven days so they adjust to the humidity and temperature of your space. Skipping this step leads to gaps or buckling later, so we never rush it.

Week 4 - Subfloor Prep and Layout Planning

We level low spots, remove old adhesive, and snap chalk lines for the pattern. For herringbone or custom inlays, we dry-lay the first rows to confirm alignment before any adhesive goes down.

Week 5 - Installation and Sanding

Planks go in row by row with consistent spacing. After the floor is down, we sand it in three passes with progressively finer grit to create a smooth, even surface ready for stain.

Week 6 - Staining, Sealing, and Walkthrough

We apply the chosen stain, then two or three coats of polyurethane with drying time between each. The final walkthrough covers care instructions, warranty details, and what to avoid for the first 72 hours.
