From the first site measure to the final coat of finish, each job follows the same disciplined sequence. You know what happens next, who is responsible, and what to expect before we start.
We measure the room, check subfloor flatness, and run a moisture test on concrete or plywood before any material is ordered. This step decides whether we need a vapor barrier, an underlayment, or extra leveling compound.
You choose between solid oak, engineered planks, or a custom stain. We lay out boards from several bundles so the grain and tone stay consistent across the room, avoiding the patchy look that comes from mixing batches.
Wood needs time to settle into the room's humidity. We stack the planks on site for the recommended period, then map the starting wall and pattern direction so cuts land evenly and the herringbone or straight layout stays true.
Each board is cut to fit with a tolerance of about a millimeter. We nail or glue according to the subfloor type, leaving the correct expansion gap around the perimeter so the floor can move without buckling in seasonal shifts.
For refinishing jobs, we sand in progressive grits to remove scratches and open the grain. Stains are tested on offcuts first, then applied evenly. The final polyurethane or oil finish gets two to three coats with proper drying time between each.
